It was not! Besides, it's my theory that Beetles can run for over 70 miles on an empty tank, because they're so lightweight.

Lands' sakes, STP! Do I need to produce two witnesses? The needle was BELOW the "empty" mark.

If actual events resembled in any way what you described, it must have been thrilling! Trust little ol' me to have a super exciting trip to Northlake, instead of a plainjane boring uneventful drive. ;)

Mark me down for that seminar, Monte Cristo, and let me know how I can help you...
...and now that you mention it, don't you think we need to publish that Party Planning book before we host the seminar?

That's right, niftybonz! I'm actually thinking of hosting a short, day-long seminar for young women on hostessing and partying in general...I do consider us experts :-D

And isn't it great that we all know how to spell the word "Caesar"?

I love how spontaneous our family is - from last minute dinner plans to drop-of-the-hat parties, I think it's so cool that our parents have raised us as instinctive party animals! Just looking around for the closest party!
In this case, STP and MC instinctively knew that the party did not include attending a Charlotte Symphony Business Meeting - crisp Caesar salads and decadent desserts awaited them...

STP has conveniently forgotten to mention the three-tiered, enormous dessert platter we ordered after our dinner. We couldn't make up our mind as to which dessert to have, so we ended up ordering their "sampler" kind of thing, which turned out to be three huge desserts stacked on top of one another in a really impressive way.

No, we didn't eat them all.

She also forgot to tell the story with regard to the gas scare. That's right - after driving away from the bomb site, STP came back to earth to discover that the car was virtually out of gas. Don't know how she thought we would make it all the way to Northlake on the few drops she had left to begin with, but we did...somehow. Anyway, after driving around, aimlessly purposeful, looking for a gas station, we (meaning she) realized that we didn't have enough gas to waste like that. So we (also meaning she) pulled over and called the GasFinder Hotline (i.e., our dad). With his help, and 21st Century technology, we eventually found a gas station. I'm sure there were only moments to spare before the car sputtered and died.

I also think it humorous that STP attributes to me our ending up staying in Northlake. Ha!
