Last night Emily Hergenreter and her two siblings (Katy and Sophy) came over to our house as a last minute get together. We had the most incredible time! Emily’s parents were going out to dinner so we invited them all to have dinner and watch a movie with us. They brought their bathing suits but after a short while in the pool, it started to rain and the swim was short lived. :(   We had planned an ‘on-the-fly’ idea of an inside picnic, and eat on a blanket in the kitchen, watching our movie on the projector. It sounded really fun and exciting. We gave them a choice: Bringing up Baby (Cary Grant, Catherine Hepburn) or Ice Princess (Michelle Trachtenberg, Joan Cusack). As it happened, we ended up watching a movie Emily had brought called Pillow Talk (Doris Day, Rock Hudson). It was HILARIOUS and very cute! We loved it, but because we had lent out our projector to a friend, we had to watch the movie upstairs. During dinner on the floor, we learned a new card game called “Golf” and played it while munching on Tortilla Chips and heated con queso dip. Yum! I never thought I’d like that melty yellow cheese and peppers, but surprisingly I did! Afterwards we had delicious homemade (wheat-free) brownies that they had brought. Yum yum yum! They were spectacular! :P We drove them home (after a slice of midnight cheesecake) and kept them company until their parents arrived. It was such a fun night.
