This year, I’ve received ”birthday” emails from Brio (”Happy Birthday Morgan – enjoy this $10 gift certificate”), Sephora (”Happy Birthday, Beautiful – come pick up your birthday gift”), Origins (”It’s time to celebrate – enjoy $10 off your next purchase”), Mario Badescu (”Wishing you a very happy birthday – enjoy this $10 gift certificate”), Borders (”Happy Birthday, take 25% off the price of one item”), Alibris (”Morgan, take $10 off the price of one item”), ING Direct (”Happy Birthday from ING Direct – celebrate with 15% off), Amazon, and Artscroll.
Most of these messages have one number in common, the amount of $10. I think it’s worth noting that if everyone I knew gave me $10, I’d be a millionaire. Let’s keep that in mind for next year, shall we?
Thanks to all of you for the birthday messages, calls, and emails. It has been a fantastic occasion. And for those of you who didn’t remember… don’t worry, I’ll be celebrating for the rest of July. Belated gifts are welcome anytime.

Do you really know 10,000 people? (that is the correct math isn’t it?) Anyway, I’ll come with you when you want to spend those gift certificates

For goodness’ sake, the math doesn’t matter. It’s the CONCEPT.
And yes, we can go shopping together.

Update: Godiva would also like to wish me a very Happy Birthday, and they invite me to enjoy $10 off an online order.

I’ll give you $10 next year. I could have been doing this all along??

Let’s put it this way: you mean as much to me as 10 people.
